Tidal races or overfalls may occur vary with the relative directions and rates of the currents and of the tidal stream; certain areas in which tidal races or overfalls usually occur are indicated on the nautical races also occur off most of the salient points on each side of the strait and eddies probably form under the points and Tides and Currents. The periodic rise and fall of the water along ocean coasts is a phenomenon familiar to all of us. Even those who have never been to the seashore have heard enough about the tides to know that they follow a rhythmic daily ://

˛ese tidal current charts of this atlas are presented in the style of the former NOAA Graphical Current Charts, which were avail-able up until ˛ose charts covered nine waterways around the contiguous US, including Puget Sound, San Francisco Bay, and Chesapeake Bay.

All nine books were discontinued a˝er forty Atlas of Tidal Currents. Tidal Current Atlases present a comprehensive view of the hourly rate and direction of major tidal currents within specific coastal regions of Canada.

The Atlases use arrows to indicate the direction and the velocity of surface   This Book compliles Current Charts and Tide Prints for Puget Sound. Current Charts show the values of the currents at each reference station. There is one chart for every hour throughout the cycle.

They are indexed to the tidal current at Admiralty Inlet. Tide Prints show the flow patterns and how they evolve throughout the current  › Books › Science & Math › Nature & Ecology. Tidal Stream Atlases include detailed tidal stream direction and strength information for key locations in North West Europe.

This is basically a set of numbers that describe the tidal currents at certain times relative to high water at a reference port.

The description at each time interval is simply the direction the current is flowing, and the speed of the current (given for both spring and neap tides).

Nautical Charts Protect Lives, Property and the Marine Environment. The Tides, Currents, and Water Levels Web Site provides predicted times and heights of high and low waters, and the hourly water levels for over seven hundred stations in Canada.
